I'm James Albert Gaskell!

My Dad Albert Ellsworth Gaskill was born 22 May 1917 in Cloquet, Minnesota. He died 8 April 1987 in Portland Oregon. He was 70 Yrs Old at the time. He married my mother 8 April 1939 at Stevenson, Washington. He was called into the US Army in 1940 when World War II became more intense.
Dad shipped out about 4 months before I was born. It was September 1940 and I was born 4th of January 1941. Dad was honorably discharged when the war in 1945. Mom said he came back very different. He was more short tempered and moreless mean! From then on .. There was a lot of contention. His brother Bob Gaskill came back about the same time also. Dad also changed his last name to Gaskell due to the kill in Gaskill reminded him to much of the war.

I was an unusually active kid that was always busy doing something and part of it was yes, getting into trouble.Flying kites,playing ose days as it is now .. I was first born that lived so, I was always with my toy car, tanks, and radios, crystal sets getting shocked on 110 volts ac when grounded. No protection in thin trouble! Also I always wondered where I came from? (Before Earth-time.)

BEING RAISED IN THE 40's - 50's
A GREAT FAMILY WHERE WE HAD 99% FREEDOM!
Oh Yes .. After our parents went to bed .. Out the window we would go to meet all of our friends who would be doing the same thing .. What fun .. To stay out all night or most of it .. We never caused any damage to property but we woke up neighbors, teased animals, jumped frieght trains, knock on doors and run, We were delinquents at our finest hour .. Oh Yeah!
OH, BTW, WE DID GROW UP!
Mom knew us better than Dad when we were young!
I am In my eighties and I am sure that my friends are missing the great times we had growing up in the 40's and 50's as I do .. It was magic and we were free to roam .. Parents did not have to worry about us when we went somewhere .. Teachers were different then, We knew they really loved us .. We reminded them of them when they were our age!
